Happy Birthday Gramfield

My mom's mom would have been 100 on Feb 9th. My mom, sister, and I went to celebrate by going antiquing, and lunch. This is what my birthday "gift" was from my mom, an antique scale. Hill got a beaded purse and bird necklace....
My mom also found some really cool paper flowers that she bought.... As it so happened, on Sat morn when I went to my home page there was a video tutorial for them! What a coincidence....or not!

I made these this morning for my kid's teachers for Valentine's day.

PS - I also learned that Gramfield used to make ginger bread men cookies and to hang them she would tie the ribbon around their neck! Funnest laugh of the day was over that one!

I got bored with Red

I loved the red for years..... but that's just it, it had been years and I got bored. I got inspired from some bloggers who had done whole walls of black chalkboard paint. And after weeks of thinking about it just took the plunge. It's just paint right?

Before (last Christmas):

Taped:

Gotta say, I LOVE this black!!

Kids covering the whole wall with chalk. This is recommended before using the wall to write on.

A gold frame for the kids creations:

Now on to a new Gold Chandelier!!!! Pictures to follow!

What I've Been Doing

Working on Christmas Crafts:

The Before
The After:

I've seriously been collecting jars for months now. I cleaned them up and painted the lids and the front with chalkboard paint. I'm going to fill these with spiced nuts and include a piece of chalk so they can continue to write on the jars.

Making ruffle pillows out of shirts:
Before, extra pillow and a ruffle shirt from my sister. I just could never make the shirt look right on me.....

So I put it on an extra pillow instead.

Still loving my new boots! And the dirty mirror too.

Loving Scarfs and bangs:

Visiting my parents for sloppy joes when Bri's out of town.
Taking pictures of rainbows out my back door:

I love fabric

I love fabric, which is funny, because as a kid I HATED going to the fabric store with my mother. It was seriously torture.....oh how times have changed. I could go to JoAnne Fabric store for hours and just comb through fabric and get ideas.

This is my latest one:

I'm still in the process of deciding what to do with these curtains. I simply folded over the top and hung with clips...no sewing! I think I may try to turn this into a Roman Shade. We shall see.

What's your favorite room?

This is mine!

The crib is finally gone, and is replaced by my latest Craigslist find. This little vanity 30$. I just recovered the stool with the polka dot fabric today.

The big girls bunkbed.

Their little picture wall.

Fabrics that will be used for the duvet covers. I am such a sucker for polka dots!

Not too soon before I finished recovering the stool, Avery's dress got caught on the top rail and she fell off the ladder. I really thought it could have been broken. No swelling and little pain, so I'm crossing my fingers.
